Aislinn & Andy’s Relaxed Carlingford Brewery Wedding

Aislinn & Andy’s relaxed wedding at Carlingford Brewery in County Louth began at Aislinn’s family home in Lislea, County Armagh, followed by a beautiful ceremony in her family chapel, a sunny detour to Gyles Quay and a brilliant celebration with their family and friends.

It was one of those wedding days where everything just felt easy. Relaxed, full of laughter and completely focused on enjoying the day with the people they love.

As a Northern Ireland wedding photographer covering weddings across Ireland, I absolutely loved being part of this one.

Getting Ready at Home in Lislea, County Armagh

I arrived at Aislinn’s family home in Lislea, County Armagh, and from the minute I walked through the door, I knew we were in for a good one!

There was such a lovely atmosphere in the house. Everyone was excited, but there was no sense of rushing or stress. Just lots of laughter, excitement and all those little moments that naturally happen during the morning of a wedding.

I love photographing bridal preparations at home because it makes the start of the story feel so personal. You are surrounded by familiar places, family and all those little details that make the morning completely yours.

A Beautiful Family Chapel Wedding Ceremony

Aislinn & Andy’s wedding ceremony took place in Aislinn’s family chapel, making this part of the day incredibly personal and meaningful.

After all the excitement of getting ready, it was time for the two of them to finally see each other and say “I do”.

The ceremony was beautiful and surrounded by the people who mean the most to them. Once the celebrations began, everyone made their way towards Carlingford Brewery in County Louth.

But before heading to the reception, we had a little detour planned.

Wedding Portraits at Gyles Quay

One of my favourite parts of Aislinn & Andy’s wedding day was their little trip to Gyles Quay, overlooking Carlingford Lough.

Rather than disappearing for ages for their wedding portraits, we took a short detour on the way to the reception. Just the two of them, a bit of sunshine and the most gorgeous views across the water.

And honestly, it was perfect.

It gave us a little pocket of time to slow everything down, have a laugh and actually take in what was happening.

I think this is one of the best things about a relaxed wedding photography approach. Your portraits don’t need to take hours, and you don’t need to spend half your wedding day away from your guests.

We had a little time together, explored the area around Gyles Quay, enjoyed the sunshine and created some beautiful portraits before heading on to the celebrations.

It was relaxed, natural and completely them.

Carlingford Brewery Wedding Reception, County Louth

Then it was time to head to Carlingford Brewery for the wedding reception.

Nestled in the heart of the Cooley Peninsula in County Louth, Carlingford Brewery is a unique and characterful wedding venue with a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. Set around a historic old mill, it is a brilliant choice for couples looking for a wedding venue with plenty of personality and something a little different.

As Aislinn & Andy arrived, they were greeted by the biggest cheers from their family and friends.

The atmosphere was incredible.

It was exactly the kind of relaxed, laid back celebration they had planned, with everyone together, plenty of laughter and lots of reasons to celebrate.

Family & Wedding Party Photographs

We just took 15–20 minutes out during the drinks reception for the family photographs and wedding party photos at Carlingford Brewery.

I know these are important photographs to have, but I also know most couples don’t want to spend ages standing around taking formal group photos when there are drinks to be enjoyed and guests to catch up with!

So we kept things moving and got all the important combinations done in less than 20 minutes.

It was quick, organised and painless, which meant Aislinn & Andy were straight back to enjoying the drinks reception with their family and friends before the call for the meal.

These are the photographs you’ll want to look back on, especially the ones with the people who have been such a huge part of your lives, but they don’t need to take over your wedding day.

As a Northern Ireland wedding photographer, I photograph weddings throughout Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, including County Armagh, County Louth, Carlingford and the surrounding areas.

For me, wedding photography is about getting those important photographs while making sure you still have plenty of time to actually enjoy your wedding day.

You don’t need to spend hours posing for photographs.

You don’t need to disappear from your guests.

And you definitely don’t need to have every moment planned.

Just enjoy yourselves, be together and let me take care of the photographs. ❤️

After Dinner Entertainment with Adrian Knight

And then came the entertainment!

After dinner, Aislinn & Andy had hypnotist Adrian Knight keeping everyone entertained, and he certainly didn’t disappoint.

The show had everyone laughing, with plenty of brilliant reactions from their family and friends. It was one of those parts of the day where I could barely keep the camera still because there was so much going on and so many funny moments happening around the room!

It was the perfect addition to such a relaxed and fun wedding day, and definitely an after dinner experience that their guests won’t be forgetting anytime soon. 😂

Party Time!

Then it was time to party!

The Favours Band got everyone up on their feet and the singalong was in full swing before Aislinn & Andy took to the dance floor for their first dance.

By this point, the atmosphere was absolutely brilliant. Everyone was dancing, singing and having the best time, and it was exactly how you want a wedding party to feel.

I said my goodbyes when the party was well and truly in full swing, with a packed dance floor and everyone having an absolute ball.

Honestly, what a way to finish such a brilliant wedding day! ❤️
